Pilates for every body

Covid Safety is important to me. Masks are required for everyone, until further notice. I am fully vaccinated and sanitize  all the equipment before all sessions as well as run an air purifier.

I discovered Pilates after knee surgery in 1989 and I learned firsthand how beneficial it is for healing an injury. As a gymnast and dancer it became an invaluable part of my training and continued rehabilitation.

Now I’ve been teaching for 25 years and have seen Pilates grow from a barely known niche to a worldwide fad but at its heart it’s still a transformative movement practice. Maybe you’ve seen impossibly fit looking people doing extremely intimidating  moves when you researched Pilates but that’s not really at the core of its benefits. It’s also not just for your core! The real “magic” of Pilates come from the practice of moving the body and shifting the mind into that flow state where breath, movement and mental focus all come together.

Private sessions give you  space for going at your own pace and learning exercises that are chosen for your bodies individual needs. Like learning a new language  it takes time but with consistent practice you’ll find you’re more capable and connected in your body and that’s far more valuable than six pack abs. Of course if 6 pack abs are your goal that’s perhaps possible but real fitness comes in all shapes and sizes!

Pilates will improve your balance, posture, functional movement and longevity to maintain a healthy capable body throughout your life. The equipment gives you feedback from the springs to build awareness, strength, flexibility and supports and challenges you appropriately.  The exercises are infinitely adaptable to  your whatever your goals may be, whether it’s getting out of pain, healing an injury, improving in sports or recreation or simply being able to do the activities you love with ease! Pilates is a practice that can help  every body and I’m here to help you.
